Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em

Author: leroyjames | Filed under: Featured, Uncategorized

Yet another awesome reason to pick up smoking (other than looking cool of course). Researchers at Thomas Jefferson University have discovered a way to increase the amount of oils made in tobacco plants for use in biofuels.

“Tobacco is very attractive as a biofuel because the idea is to use plants that aren’t used in food production,” Dr. Andrianov said. “We have found ways to genetically engineer the plants so that their leaves express more oil. In some instances, the modified plants produced 20-fold more oil in the leaves.”

No word yet on how they’re progressing with Kools.

  1. This is blasphemy. Everyone knows tobacco is meant for getting cancer, not potentially helping the environment.

Wait… would this actually mean that cars could smoke too? Philip Morris funded?
Thinking on it, though. Energy would be the next step for a company like Philip Morris.

  2. I had looking this article and found it here. Very interesting article and it’s look what i need and want.
